As women, our goal is to inspire, empower, and give a voice to future generations, particularly young women and children. My life’s purpose has been to be a forerunner—a leader in both my personal and professional life—so others can follow. I have embodied this mission at every level, from my own family to my adult children, grandchildren, and now my great-grandson. My message extends not just to the women of the world but also to the young leaders determined to make a difference.
Rick Warren, former Pastor of Saddleback Church, once said that when God made you, He threw away the mold—there is no one else like you, both in the past and future, who will have the opportunity to fulfill your unique purpose. In my book, I reflect on my journey, beginning with my birth in El Salvador and my mother’s move to America at the age of 22, seeking a better life for her daughter. At just six years old, I came to America with my grandmother and uncle, stepping into the most powerful and influential country in the world with a sense of excitement and the promise of a bright future.
Growing up, I navigated my education through a small red schoolhouse, progressing from elementary to middle school and high school, and eventually pursuing doctoral studies. This journey shaped who I would become, leaving a lasting impact on the world.
I am grateful for the opportunities I've had. Now, as a philanthropist and as the president of Moms for El Salvador. My mission is to influence not only the women from El Salvador but also women across Latin America, empowering them to dream beyond the impossible. As someone in my local community once said, "Think big or go home." To all women, I urge you to think big—do not retreat; strive to realize your fullest potential.
My book shares the stories of the impossible dreams of a six-year-old girl from a battered but powerful country. When we are asked to take on a task, we confidently say, "I can and I will." This attitude stems from my Salvadoran roots, especially now, under the leadership of Nayib Armando Bukele Ortez, who is advocating for our safe and economically robust future.
Let us not remain stagnant, but rather advance toward our God-given tasks. I hope my book becomes a platform for empowerment, inspiring readers to undertake greater works. May you find inspiration and blessings through my stories and experiences that have led me to where I am today.
